    卡尔•柯鲁克长着一张外国人的脸，汉语却是他的母语。柯鲁克1949年出生在北京，他介绍自己时喜欢说“我是新中国的同龄人”，因为他和那一代的中国人分享着很多共同的经历——比如文化大革命和经济改革。柯鲁克把北京当作自己扎根的地方，“就像读一本自己喜欢的书，北京这个城市让我从内心感到温暖和快乐。”
